Raptor Vest

One Health had a request for a client to that needed a Raptor Vest that would protect a homeless teen’s small dog from a resident owl that had taken up residence in their neighborhood. The Raptor Vest would be used to deter the owl from picking up the small dog and running off with it like a takeout dinner. Beloveds didn’t have a Raptor Vest on hand but we were able to ask the community and not one but TWO people offered to buy one! We were able to procure one for the client and keep one for future inquiries

Small Dog Stroller

One of the pleasures of having strong community ties is knowing folks will go out of their way to help. There was a special request for a dog stroller for a foster dog that had surgery. Beloveds had just handed out the last of the strollers so we asked the community. As always, our community came through with not one but three strollers. One person even bringing one down to the Beloveds HQ just a mere hour before the pet organization’s pick up time, so we could surprise our contact with a barely used stroller!

Raw Food

A rare donation is raw food, which is hard to store and is normally quite expensive. Beloveds was donated with two pallets of raw food, which were given directly to two small pet organizations that could quickly utilize this donation and specialize in special needs dogs, such as dogs with skin issues and allergies. A raw diet is excellent for dogs that have these types of conditions, in helping them heal from the inside. After just a few short weeks, we received word from these pet organizations that their special needs dogs are doing so well on the raw diet, they are going off medications! That was an amazing text to get and inspiring to ensure we can do our best to provide support for special needs animals.
